Written over twenty years ago, Eyes on Me echoes its hauntingly beautiful melody throughout the platform it was written specifically for: the eighth installment of the legendary Final Fantasy game series.
When I first heard the song I was an ambitious, yet struggling nineteen year old musician who had always had a soft spot for that particular gaming franchise.
The song is written from the point of view of a struggling nightclub singer named Julia and details her secret feelings for her biggest fan, an awkward star-struck soldier who would never have guessed that his infatuation with her was mutual.
